The Scottish Government has issued guidance to ensure that moving home in Scotland can happen safely during the coronavirus outbreak in Scotland. The new guidance will take effect from 29th June when all home moves are permitted, provided they can be carried out safely. Members of the public will be allowed to leave their homes in order to move home and undertake activities in connection with the purchase or sale of a residential property, including:

Those involved in the process will have to adapt practices and procedures to ensure that the risk of spread of the virus is reduced as far as possible. There is new guidance in respect of viewing a property, having a property surveyed, and using removal companies, and everyone involved in a move must follow government health advice and guidance on physical distancing. People are encouraged to be as flexible as possible during this period and be prepared to delay a move if needed.

Until 29th June you are free to make or accept an offer or reserve a new-build property as normal, and if you would like our advice on the current or new guidance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
