At Raeside Chisholm, we place great importance in getting involved in the community and doing charitable work where we can. This month, that took the form of sponsoring the Patrick Brooks Award for Partnership Working, for Age Scotland.

The Patrick Brooks award is for partnership working that has made an outstanding contribution to addressing the needs of older people.

This year, the award went to the Clackmannanshire Older Adults Forum. The Forum gives older adults a voice within their communities. It invites seniors to come together and "speak with a strong collective voice and share knowledge and experience." Issues can then be fed into local planning and decision making.

A current priority for the Forum is transport for the elderly. The Forum are fighting for the current concessionary bus pass scheme to be extended to community transport services, which they have been instrumental in establishing within Clackmannanshire.

The forum also instigates inter-generational activities, inviting young and older members of the community to exchange skills such as IT and knitting.

Raeside Chisholm provides a tailored legal service for the elderly, in addition to our wills services. We have personal experience of elderly relatives and their problems and needs, so if you are seeking care in the home advice, powers of attorney, or financial and tax planning, get in touch with us today by phone, or using our online contact form.
