If you are in the fortunate position to have paid off your mortgage on your Scottish property, your mortgage lender will require you to instruct your solicitor to carry out a mortgage discharge of the standard security registered in the Land Register of Scotland.

Many people do not appreciate the importance of doing this, which can present problems in selling the house in the future, if you no longer have access to your previous Account details.
